Holiday Stories

Next week, as part of our holiday celebration, please have your child bring in his/her favorite holiday story.  This story can be a picture book, or a short story from a collection.  We will be sharing our favorite stories in small groups.  Please practice reading the story with your son/daughter so he/she is fluent, can pronounce all the words and use proper expression.  Later in the week we will be identifying some themes, lessons and messages that go along with these fun stories.  I am hoping this will be a fun way to bring some holiday spirit to our reading classes.

P.S.  If you don't have any holiday books at home, students can check them out from the public library or you may even be able to find some printable short holiday stories online.  :)

Christmas Party Sign-up

Today in class we discussed our Christmas Party.  Our party will be the afternoon of December 20th. Today in class the kids brainstormed some light snacks they would like to have as part of their celebration.  We worked hard to make sure the snacks were balanced and tried to stay on the healthy side.

If you are interested in bringing in something for our party please locate the Google Doc on the right hand side of the blog.  If you'd like to sign up for an item, mark it using your classroom code.

February Book Choice

The google doc is up and ready for you to post your next book choice.  Your next WEB project is due on February 4th.  You have some extra time with this one, so if you have a longer book you've been waiting to read, this is the month to take on that challenge.

All WEB books must be posted to the google doc by Friday!
