Wonderfully Exciting Books Program

Good afternoon parents and students,

This week we will be starting our at home reading program titled, "Wonderfully Exciting Books" or WEB for short.  This simple program tracks your at home reading.  Students are asked to read one book a month, and have that book in school each day.  We will be tracking page numbers to monitor nightly reading, and periodically reviewing the events and components of the book the child is reading.   Each month a project is due for that novel of study.

This program will be formally introduced in the classroom on Wednesday, but all the forms and paperwork that will be sent home are located in the blue band on the right side of the blog if you'd like to get a sneek peek.  It was highly encouraged today that each student bring a book to school tomorrow.  Our Westwood library opens this week Thursday.

Happy Reading!  :)

We continued our day with some organizing of our desk, materials and binder and also learned behavior expectations in the different areas of Westwood school. We ended the day with some team building activities in our classroom and outside.

Welcome students and parents!!!

Greetings Everyone!  Thank you for “stopping in” to view our classroom blog.  I am so excited to be your teacher and embark on a wonderful adventure together for the  2013-2014 school year.  Our theme this year is, "Westwood Students Shine." We will be exploring ways that we shine throughout the school year.

Parents, feel free to use the directions in the paperwork sent home today to “follow by email.”  However, please allow students to receive their classroom blog introduction and their blog “code” before any posts or comments are made.  This is to ensure we are practicing Internet safety.  Students will receive this information during the first week of school and the blog will become interactive at that time.

There are many forms and information located on the right side of the blog.  These can be viewed at any time or printed for your files.  Please stop in often to see what we are up to in our classroom.

Can’t wait to see you at our first full day of school on Thursday, August 15th.
Mrs. Wagner  :)
