Social Studies Test

Wednesday a study guide was sent home explaining the Social Studies test the students will be taking on Monday, March 12th.  This test will be completely essay format.  Students will need to study the six sets of notes they have on the various lessons and colonies from this unit.  While studying they need to choose three main points or important facts regarding the colony, how it was established, or the important individuals associated with it.  These will be recorded on their test.  In addition, for the colonies of Jamestown, Plymouth, Mass. Bay and "New colonies, New ideas" they need to be able to explain why people moved to these places.

This is the first test we've taken of this type.  We talked extensively about it in class this week. The last 15 minutes students will be allowed to use their notes to fill in missing information or to jog their memories. However, students do know they NEED to study in order to be successful.  :)

Please support your child by going over these notes with him/her over the weekend.  Sometimes verbalizing those main ideas makes a big difference when it comes to remembering them.

Happy Friday,
Mrs. Wagner :)
